Tribute To My Dad- Samson Ovie Amarie

Mr Samson Amarie
TRIBUTE TO MY DAD Setting pen to paper to write a tribute to my Dad got me thinking:

How can I say a few words that will do justice to all of the years of love and strength that my dad gave!  How can I tell a story of my Dad that conveys the message of what his love and strength has meant to me (and us ALL)!

During his last days, I learned much about him – a rather private man whom no one really

MH370: Malaysia Declares Missing Plane an "Accident". Reason? Read Here...

Malaysia's civil aviation chief, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman has officially declared the disappearance of flight MH370 an 'accident,' and all  passengers, crew of missing flight 'presumed dead', in order to fulfil a legal obligation to clear the way for families to seek compensation payments.

According to him, Malaysia, China and Australia had spared no expense and resources in their search for the plane adding that finding the Boeing 777 "remains a priority".

"It is therefore with the heaviest heart and deepest sorrow that we officially declare Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 an accident," Rahman said in a pre recorded message.

"It is hoped that this declaration will enable families to obtain the assistance they need, in particular through the compensations process," he said.

Malaysia Airlines was ready to proceed immediately with the compensation process to the next-of-kin of the passengers on the flight, he informed.

He said all 239 passengers and crew on board were presumed to have lost their lives, just hours after leaving Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on March 8.

The missing Beijing-bound flight that disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur must be one of the 21st-century great aviation mysteries ten months after it varnished without a trace and without a single piece of debris from the plane found.

GORY PICTURES: BOY 13, LOSSES TWO FINGERS TO CHRISTMAS EXPLOSIVES

A thirteen-year-old boy in Ile-ewe in Iba, Lagos, had his two fingers cut off and one of the two fingers thrown inside the gutter in front of their compound today, 1st January, 2015.

The boy, Nnaemeka, fondly called Emmy by friends, was cleaning the compound with other neighbours this morning when he got attracted by the sound of his mother throwing christmas crackers popularly known as 'Shakees bangers', an explosive that gives off eight different loud sounds at once. He left the cleaning team and went to collect some of the 'bangers' from his mother at the back of the house and started throwing them around.
Luck ran out on him when the banger exploded in his hand, cutting off one of his fingers and throwing it into the gutter.

He was taken to God's Care Hospital but the Doctor who responded to them at the speed of light was unable to suture or do anything about the second dangling finger resulting in its loss.

Disheartening, won't you say? What a way to start the new year!
